Annual Membership Drive in May
The 2012 Friends of the Waynesboro Public Library Membership Drive begins May 1. Unless you are a life member your formal membership expires soon.
Your dues and contributions unquestionably make a difference, providing the library with technical equipment, furnishings, programs and resources that otherwise wouldn’t be possible.
In 2011 the Friends provided funds for staff in-service training, the WPL summer reading program, adult and children's programming as well as equipment, genealogy references and special books for the library. During 2011, the Heritage Quest program continued, allowing patrons to access its powerful research capability from their home computers.
Membership categories are as follows:
* Individual $10.00 or more
* Family $15.00 or more
* Patron $25.00 or more
* Organization $35.00 or more
* Individual life member $100.00, or more, per person
If you are already a life member, please consider a donation. Please know that, whatever the size of your donation; we sincerely appreciate your continuing support. Memorials and living tributes of $50.00 or more and individual life memberships and organization contributions are publicly recognized at the library.
Membership benefits include receiving the Friend’s newsletter the BookMark, attendance at the annual dinner, “early bird” admittance to the September Book Sale before it opens to the general public and the knowledge that you’re helping a vitally important institution of our community.
Another giving choice is donating to the WPL Foundation. This year our fund raising drive for Phrase I of our Library’s proposed renovation was successfully concluded. Long term, we still have two more phases and they will not be funded by the city. New carpet, new lighting and a new ceiling are needed for the parts of the library not yet renovated. To find out about our future plans come to the May 20th Open House celebrating the completion of Phase I.
All contributions are deductible as allowed by law. Please make checks payable to “Friends of the Waynesboro Library” and send to …
